I started this blog to provide a casual, recreational level of fantasy NASCAR advice and discussion.  I've been playing these contests for a number of years and am annoyed by lineup sellers and groups of players using the same lineup.  I'm hoping to give the casual player some help in building solid lineups that can beat that annoying crowd most of the time.  I'm not a "tout" and don't do this for a living, so proceed accordingly.  I hope you enjoy the discussion here and Good Luck!

UGH, something went wrong and the article didn't save or post right. Switching to some quick notes.

400 miles of racing on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway oval track on Sunday. Let's dig into our cash game targets and lineup strategy.
  • Joey Logano -- He'll start from the coveted pole position. Last year at Indy, Kevin Harvick started from pole and led 119 laps. We also saw last week at a similar track (Pocono) that clean air is king and that you don't have to have the fastest car to lead laps if you have the track position. Chances are Logano leads a bulk of Stage 1 and racks up some solid laps led and fastest laps points early. He's also very good on restarts, so I'd expect him to maintain good track position throughout the race. If he only does that, he'll pay off his $9,200 salary and there's potential for much more.
  • Christopher Bell -- He's just too expensive. Even though he's paid off with Top 10 finishes in two recent races, you simply can't count on that starting this far back at a place like Indy.
  • Kevin Harvick and Denny Hamlin -- These guys very clearly had the two best cars at Pocono, which has a number of similarities to Indy. They both also have great track history at Indy. Harvick completely dominated the race last year with 119 laps led and 43 fastest laps. Has finished in the Top 6 in each of the last five races at Indy. Hamlin was awesome in his own right starting from the rear in a backup car and finishing 6th. He's also finished in the Top 6 in four of the last five Indy races.
  • All the Stewart Haas cars. They were great here last year with the cars finishing 1st, 5th, 11th and 14th. They were also real strong at Pocono last week, finishing 1st, 3rd, 7th and 16th on Saturday and 2nd, 5th, 8th and 17th on Sunday. Clint Bowyer and Cole Custer are great cash game targets. Bowyer has finished 5th at Indy the last two seasons. For Custer, Daniel Suarez has finished 7th, 18th and 11th the last three years at Indy in this car. If Suarez can do that, so can Custer. Almirola too risky for cash but can use in tourneys. He's at a level we've never seen from him right now with four consecutive Top 5 finishes.
  • Eric Jones. Always risky because he makes mistakes. But can't ignore the speed and he's still under priced considering the position difference upside.
  • William Byron. Been really good at longer, flat tracks. Knaus is good at strategy which can come into play. Has finished 19th and then 4th last year in his two Indy races. Was 14th on Saturday and quietly finished 7th last Sunday at Pocono.  A little pricey but could pay off with a Top 10 finish.
  • In addition to Custer, salary saver options are Ryan Preece and Michael McDowell.
