I started this blog to provide a casual, recreational level of fantasy NASCAR advice and discussion.  I've been playing these contests for a number of years and am annoyed by lineup sellers and groups of players using the same lineup.  I'm hoping to give the casual player some help in building solid lineups that can beat that annoying crowd most of the time.  I'm not a "tout" and don't do this for a living, so proceed accordingly.  I hope you enjoy the discussion here and Good Luck!

It's a pretty small group of guys I'm interested in for cash games. Here's the list:
  • Austin Cindric - Starts on pole and should lead early. There are modified pit stop procedures this week to where it's very unlikely to lose any positions on pit road. So someone is probably going to have to overtake Cindric on track to win this race and that's going to be very difficult. And there are 75 laps in this race, which is a decent amount for a road course. That adds a few extra laps led and fastest laps points available this week.
  • A.J. Allmendinger - The other road course ace in the series starts 12th, so offers position difference upside as well as race winning potential. Very high ceiling here and is nearly a lock for a Top 3 finish. A.J. was leading at the Daytona road course when he went to block Cindric at the end of Stage 1 and wrecked himself. He was also the best of the rest behind Kyle Busch at COTA a few weeks ago.
  • Josh Berry - Starts 31st, but I'm not overly excited about this for two reasons. First, he's racing for Jordan Anderson's team and I've still got some question how good these cars are. Second, in any event, Berry isn't a road course guy and this is his first effort on a road course in the Xfinity Series. If he can just keep in on the track, he should finish in the Top 20. But to expect anything more than a high-teens finish is pushing it.
  • Miguel Paludo - Definite Top 10 upside here in a JR Motorsports car. Paludo finished 7th at the Daytona Road Course (but got a few lucky breaks to get him up there). He was 34th at COTA after a transmission failure. Good driver in top equipment, so this is a solid choice.
  • Andy Lally - Kind of the inverse of Paludo, this is a great driver in a good car. I really like that Lally has a ton of experience at Mid Ohio in the IMSA sports car series. He's also been in these cars at Daytona and COTA already this year, so is getting to know how to handle the Xfinity cars as well.
  • Preston Pardus - He was running in the Top 10 at Daytona with three laps to go when his engine let go. He finished 33rd. At COTA, he finished 14th. A Top 20 is a reasonable floor and a Top 10 is certainly possible. Starting 39th, there is a great floor and tremendous upside as well.
  • Kris Wright - Another driver with some road course experience. He also ran the ARCA race at Mid Ohio on Friday night, so is now familiar with this track. Has struggled and not been really fast at Daytona or COTA this season. But starts 33rd and is in a decent car.
  • Jade Buford - Yet another guy with a road course history. I think he's got a good shot at a 12th-15th place finish. He starts 19th, so this is a little more risky with less upside. But I feel comfortable with this driver/car combination in this price range.
  • Gray Gaulding - Kyle Weatherman is another guy I've seen mentioned in a number of places. I'd give the edge to Gaulding since he starts as far back as you can in 40th and I just think he's a better driver. He's had solid results at road courses and I feel this car is a little more reliable than the Mike Harmon or Carl Long cars. And this team remains desperate for good points days to help with the owner's points shenanigans that are going on some weekends.

Bets I've Played
  • Moffitt -115 Berry
  • Snider -105 Berry
  • Snider +10000 to win -- very small amount obviously, but a silly line for a guy in top notch equipment with road course experience from his time in Europe - $20 bucks to win $2000?
