I started this blog to provide a casual, recreational level of fantasy NASCAR advice and discussion. I've been playing these contests for a number of years and am annoyed by lineup sellers and groups of players using the same lineup. I'm hoping to give the casual player some help in building solid lineups that can beat that annoying crowd most of the time. I'm not a "tout" and don't do this for a living, so proceed accordingly. I hope you enjoy the discussion here and Good Luck!
I talk about it more in Trucks below, but track conditions are going to be real tough with the heat and traction compound. So we want to anchor the lineup with by far the best driver in the field -- Kyle Busch. From there, we can look at these options--

Hi Steve. Thanks as always for the amazing content you put out every week! My question is how much is too much money to leave on the table for cash games? Do you tend to try and use all of the salary cap? I have $700 left on this slate and don't feel good about it. Not sure why. Seems like spending as close to the cap as possible is more ideal? Maybe I'm wrong? Thanks for your time Steve and good luck! Great run you are on!

That's a really good question. A lot of people try to use as much as possible, but I think there are times where it's fine to leave up to about $1k on the table. I've done it a couple of times this year and been fine. $700 is certainly reasonable if you're fully comfortable with the guys you have and don't see a way to improve it by spending more. (The plate tracks are a whole different animal, so we're just talking about the tracks other than the Daytona and Talladega ovals here.)
